Timepiece Gallery
Having been in the industry for over 40 years, I have extensive expertise and knowledge regarding restoration of many types of clock movements, especially antiques. People worry about having their timepieces safely repaired. I can reassure you that your clocks and watches can be successfully restored - from wristwatches, to bell tower clocks.
Mechanical timepieces often need a complete overhaul. Mechanical movements use oil which becomes dirty and dry which can stop the clock. Excessive wear and tear are also common so I recommend you have your clocks checked every six or seven years.
Overhauling each clock is a time consuming and exacting process which is best done by a qualified craftsman. Examples are shown in the gallery below.

Cleaning in clock terms usually entails disassembly then a clean and lubrcate. In rare cases, lubrication can be done on a relatively new movement without first dismantling it for cleaning.
Adding fresh oil directly to a movement without properly cleaning it, runs the risk of flushing dust and other abrasive materials into the bearings.
